The Jagdpanther Sd.Kfz. 173 was designed to fill a need in the Wehrmacht heavy tank destroyer battalions. Based off the famous Panther chassis it was produced in fairly limited numbers (less than 500), in large part due to significant disruptions to factory production lines by allied air raids. The vehicle itself had impressive specifications however, with a high velocity 88mm main gun and 80mm of frontal armour. The model is based off the later G2 variant.
