The Panzerjäger 35R (full official designation: 4.7 cm PaK(t) (Sfl.) auf Fahrgestell Panzerkampfwagen 35R 731(f)) is a German tank destroyer of the Second World War developed by the Alkett firm by converting captured French armor.
Following the capitulation of France in 1940, the Wehrmacht acquired more than 800 Renault R35 light tanks (*Beutepanzer*). Deemed too slow and under-armed for the standards of *Blitzkrieg* doctrine, the Germans decided to repurpose their chassis:
• Modification: The original turret was removed and replaced by a fixed armored casemate, left open at the top and rear.
• Armament: The vehicle was equipped with a captured Czechoslovak anti-tank gun, the Škoda 4.7 cm PaK(t) (identical to the one used on the Panzerjäger I).
• Production: 200 units were assembled in 1941 by Alkett—174 as tank destroyers and 26 as command vehicles (armed only with an MG 34 or MG 42 machine gun).
Armament :
• 4.7 cm PaK(t) L/43.4 anti-tank gun
